Reports from an Air Force Reserve Unit Hurricane Hunter aircraft indicate that Tropical Storm Cristobal has made landfall near Atasta, Mexico, just to the west of Ciudad del Carmen.
The current forecast track from the National Hurricane Center takes Tropical Storm Cristobal into the Louisiana coastline early Monday. There is still considerable uncertainty about the intensity and the storm could be a minimal hurricane. Regardless, heavy rain will lead to flooding as the storm is associated with a large gyre of tropical moisture.
