Ophelia on the way to North Carolina
NHC issued Potential Tropical Cyclone (16L) advisories earlier on Thursday with transition to fully tropical by early Saturday. Tropical Storm Ophelia may only be designated for 12-18 hours yet has the chance to reach 50-60 knots with higher gusts along the coast. There is an outside chance (1 in 4) of Ophelia becoming a hurricane.
