Short Term | Next 3-days
Thursday is a washout in the Northeast with an area of low pressure moving up the coast and quickly out in the Atlantic. The next storm system will arrive early Sunday and bring with it a chance of significant snowfall away from the Big Cities, unfortunately for any winter weather lovers in Boston and NYC. Instead, ski resorts will see welcome accumulations.
Over the next 3-days, the NWS rainfall shows another band of 2-3 inches across the Southeast including Atlanta, which picked up already 3-4 inches of flooding rains from storms early Wednesday.
Another 2-3 inches from Birmingham and Montgomery to Atlanta and Columbia, SC.
Might see well over 3-inches of heavy rainfall in Providence, and up to 3-inches in Boston. This does not include the Sunday storm, so much more is coming.
