June 3, 2020 Tropical Update
Cristobal slowly moving inland over Mexico but will reemerge over Gulf of Mexico by late Friday.
Tropical Storm Cristobal has 50-mph maximum sustained winds and is centered over land in Mexico
The storm will slowly circle back over the water by late Friday or early Saturday and then head north to the Gulf coast most likely Louisiana
Landfall as a large, strong tropical storm or a minimal hurricane
Impacts are rainfall and some gusty winds over a large area as the circulation of Cristobal will be expansive
After landfall into next week, heavy rainfall from the remnants of Cristobal will spread north through the Mississippi River valley into the Great Lakes. It is easy to see from the ECMWF model rainfall (12z) through next Thursday morning +8 days. Boatloads of moisture.
Eastern Pacific and Western Pacific remain quiet for the next 10-days+
