1. Stationary front continues to be focus of rainfall from Louisiana through the Southeast into the mid-Atlantic. Afternoon rainfall chances on Saturday and Sunday rather significant, in the 70% range from NWS or higher. Also, monsoon rainfall in New Mexico and Colorado.

2. Saturday and Sunday High temperatures only 90°F for about 100 million Americans as the Midwest, Great Lakes, Northeast, and Mid-Atlantic remain in the 80s.

3. Atlantic Tropics remain dead through the remainder of July 2024, and now into early August through the 3rd.

   

4. Western Pacific Typhoon on the way: Tropical Depression 05W is forecast to become a major or intense typhoon in the next several days with potential China landfall in 6-days. Another system is next door (04W) that will not get much time to intensify before heading into southern China.
