Good Afternoon!
Heavy snowfall in Philadelphia impacted the Eagles and Rams with some ugly looking plays until Saquon got loose —> home field advantage wins again. Entertaining game.
This evening, the Bills will host the Ravens in Buffalo with much colder temperatures in the teens with light winds and some flurries —> much better game conditions.
The National Championship Game is here in Atlanta on Monday but will be played indoors.
The snowfall will quickly move out of New England through morning on Monday but lingering heavy lake effect will continue across the Great Lakes.
NWS Snowfall Next 72-hours
Weather This Evening | Sunday
The Nor’easter produced quite a bit of snowfall — and we’ll see how much area was covered in at least 6” to fill in the Northeast seasonal snow hole on our maps.
Texas Snowfall
Mixed precipitation will initially develop early Tuesday but turn to snow — and could be heavy for a few hours.
The pressure is in the 1040s on Tuesday — quite rare for a precipitation event, but the Arctic air will definitely win this battle.
HRRR 18z through 48-hours doesn’t show the entire event, but sets up a very rare Gulf coast winter storm for just about everyone from Houston to Jacksonville, Florida.
I think we’ll see huge snowfall totals in Louisiana with the banding convective nature of the snowfall. I wouldn’t be surprised to see 6” to 10” in Baton Rouge.
NWS 3-day Forecasts do capture the entire event
4” in Houston
4” - 6” across Louisiana. Less along the immediate Gulf Coast, but should still see snowfall along the beaches.
Southeast Winter Storm
The storm will be over by Wednesday morning, and very cold temperatures will keep whatever fell in terms of snow or ice and freezing rain on the ground longer than you’d expect for the Southeast.
NWS Snowfall Totals Next 3-days
We’ll see what happens with these snowfall totals across central Georgia up into Atlanta. The air is very dry so I’d lean to much less snowfall — maybe an inch or two.
Macon will see at least 2-inches of snowfall.
