Weather Trader | Tuesday Afternoon Update

It’s still raining across Southern California with the focus of the heaviest rain winding down over San Diego tomorrow.

However, still another 2-5” of rainfall possible across San Diego County in the next day or two. The HRRR shows significant rain and snow across Arizona streaming into Utah and Colorado over the next 18-hours.

Phoenix in the 1-inch category — rainfall, of course. But looks like 4-feet of snow in the central Arizona plateau. I didn’t realize that Arizona could get this much snowfall in a storm.

Observed Rainfall Analysis

Enormous rainfall has fallen across Los Angeles metro from SLO to San Diego with heavy mountain snow. Over the past 7-days, many areas with 7-10 inches of rainfall. I I could calculate the specific population impacts, but that’s a goal to provide such information both in forecast, observation, and verification format.
