Good Morning!
Exciting day of golf at The Masters with Rory (-200) pulling out the Playoff and completing the Grand Slam. Augusta enjoyed perfect weather for Sunday.
Most of the Lower 48 enjoying beautiful Spring weather today with mild temperatures of at least 70°F for almost 200 million Americans. However, a storm system with wintry precipitation is maturing over the Great Lakes. Freezing temperatures in Canada will dip southward and result will be heavy snowfall with Lake Effect enhancement over Michigan. The Nor’easter has finally moved out in the Atlantic to mostly clear out New England.
Global Snowfall Next 15-days
Heading into the end of April, the snowfall map for the Northern Hemisphere might as well be January with continued heavy accumulations over land masses. In the Southern Hemisphere as they move through autumn, cold Antarctic air mixes with vigorous Southern Ocean storm systems to continually snow over the edge of the continent and to about 45°S latitude. The continued snowfall increases the Earth’s albedo and reflects sunlight into space with the higher sun angle into late April.
Highs on Monday
80s for 118 million Americans including Nashville to Charlotte. Even New England will climb into 60s after finally ridding itself of the Nor’easter.
High Temperatures Next 9-days
Bit of a roller coaster for the next week+ as multiple frontal boundaries with troughs means see-saw temperatures has flow alternates between cooler northerly and moist southerly. However, by next week, the pattern shifts to more persistent southerly flow and considerably warmer with more precipitation. Our dry pattern comes to an end.
